Board Job DescriptionsWe need you!!! There are many ways to become involved in the KOSC. Due to the constant rotations of our members, there are almost always board positions or committee positions needing to be filled. It is a wonderful way to make new friends and help the KOSC support the base and community through our charitable work. Please contact us at KirtlandOSC@yahoo.com to find out where you could fill a position, it would be greatly appreciated and FUN!!
If you have any questions about the board positions, please ask a current or incoming board member or an advisor for more information. We would love to have you serve on the KOSC Board! Here are the board positions and a brief description: President: Presides at all meetings of the KOSC and the Board of Governors; appoints all chairmen to the board with the approval of the Executive Board; fills vacancies in the other elected offices with the approval of the Executive Board; serves as ex-officio member of all committees except Nominating Committee and submits annual review to Services. First Vice- President: Performs duties of the president in their absence; serves as Protocol Officer; serves as purchasing agent for special gifts; and coordinates and assists Standing Committee Chairs under First Vice President. Second Vice President: Performs the duties of the First Vice President in their absence; acts as Chair of the Welfare Committee; reports all requests for donations to the Board of Governors, and coordinates and assists Standing Committee Chairs under the Second Vice President. Recording Secretary: Keeps accurate record of all general membership, special and Board of Governors meetings and distributes minutes to the Board; maintains current records for the term of office and permanent records for the KOSC; forwards copies of minutes and Treasurer Reports to Services and Support Group Commander; performs duties of corresponding secretary in their absence. Corresponding Secretary: Prepares official correspondence of the Board of Governors; maintains KOSC post office box and picks up and distributes the mail; serves as the remembrance Chair; performs duties of the recording secretary in their absence. Administrative Treasurer: Is custodian of the administrative fund and chair of the Administrative Fund Budget Committee; receives, disburses and accounts for dues, receipts, and expenditures, balances administrative fund on a monthly basis and reports status to the Board of Governors; and is responsible for getting KOSC IRS tax forms completed and filed by CPA. Welfare Treasurer: Is custodian of welfare fund and Chair of the Welfare Fund Budget Committee; balances welfare fund monthly and reports status to the Board of Governors; keeps monthly record of donations; and serves on the Welfare Committee, Scholarship Committee and Thrift Shop Council. Parliamentarian: Is knowledgeable of the rules of parliamentary procedure; is custodian of the Constitution and Bylaws, and is the Chair of the Constitution and Bylaws Review Committee, Job Description Review Committee, and Nominating and Election Committee. |
